Program Overview

Welcome to our Authority Health Pediatric Family. We love caring for our pediatric patients within

the community and it is our hope that this page will allow you to get to know us better!

The WHO: The Authority Health Pediatrics Residency Program is a three-year program

that is uniquely positioned to provide the full range of training in pediatrics with an emphasis

on urban communities that are medically underserved in the state of Michigan

The HOW: Our unique training experience is offered as residents are provided with

a very well-rounded education that includes comprehensive inpatient pediatric medicine training

with community health center exposure

The WHERE: Primary care clinical sites throughout the city of Detroit;

Inpatient training at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan

The WHAT: What makes us unique as a program?

As apart of our curriculum residents also participate in a 2-year Population Health and Equity Certification

program with monthly didactic sessions through a partnership with Michigan Public Health Training Center,

University of Michigan, School of Public Health. This allows us to get a better understanding of the

disparities our patients face out in the community. We also gain access to various resources to help

service our pediatric community and their families

Remember, the secret to getting ahead is getting started.
